Wide Awake Films is passionate about America’s history. We feel it is our mission to sustain and invigorate interest in the stories of our past through the creation of new media, films, television programs, video, and museum interactives. As we look towards the United States of America’s Semiquincentennial in 2026, Wide Awake is proud to partner with museums and other cultural institutions striving to share all of our nation’s history and inspiring stories with a new generation. The American Revolution
From the first calls for liberty and representation through the bloody battles both in the northern and southern campaigns, Wide Awake has produced award-winning films, animations, videos, and documentaries on the Revolutionary War and its key figures.
America’s Founding Era
Gaining independence from Great Britain was only half the challenge facing the young United States. Wide Awake has developed award-winning films, videos, and educational media that help highlight the challenges facing the young republic as it sought to codify the rights of its citizens and form the United States Constitution.
African-American Experience
No group of Americans faced a more daunting set of challenges as they pursued liberty and representation. Wide Awake Films has created powerful films highlighting the courageous steps taken by African-Americans in pursuit of freedom and liberty.
Women in American History
Despite being denied the right to vote until the passage of the 19th amendment in 1920, women have played a central and vital role in our nation’s history since its founding. Wide Awake Films has produced films and educational media highlighting courageous women throughout our history.
